Grounded

In a floating city where no one touches real soil, a girl visits her great-aunt's grounded home and discovers a handmade book—leading her to question what else her world has lost.

Summary

Kimia has lived her entire life in Navarrah, a floating city where existence is mediated through screens and synthetic environments. When her family finally visits her great-aunt Shahrazad—a reclusive artist living on one of the last remaining patches of land—Kimia encounters soil, animals, and handmade objects for the first time. A mysterious illuminated manuscript, created by someone in her own family line, draws her into forgotten histories. When she and her friends uncover a hidden sketch connecting ancient Persian mythology to futuristic guardians, Kimia begins to ask: What else have we forgotten? What else is still hidden?
